National Organization on Disability The NOD has information and resources for people interested in closing the participation gaps between people with and without disabilities.

World Institute on Disability is a nonprofit research, training and public policy center promoting the civil rights and the full societal inclusion of people with disabilities.

UCP (also known as United Cerebral Palsy) is the leading source of information on cerebral palsy.

The American Foundation for the Blind (AFB) is a national resource for people who are blind or visually impaired, the organizations that serve them, and the general public. The site contains fact sheets and short documents on technology issues important to the blindness community, as well as a services directory and other publications.

The American Council of the Blind (ACB) is a membership organization of people who are blind and visually impaired. The site contains a number of resources on technology and policy issues.

The National Foundation of the Blind (NFB) is a membership organization of people who are blind. The site contains resources on technology issues related to blind access.

Statistics

The Disability Statistics Center is a national center of research and training in disability statistics. It receives primary funding from the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research. The Center has ongoing research projects on the cost of disability, employment and earnings, access to health and long-term care services, housing, mortality, and national statistical indicators on the status of people with disabilities in America.

DisabilityStatistics.org condenses several data sources into a single, user-friendly, accessible, Internet resource. Developed by a NIDRR-funded center at Cornell University, this site also provides essential background information on key issues related to disability statistics.

InfoUse has an "Access to Disability Data" project funded by the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research, and has the most up-to-date versions of the "Chartbook" series, listings of organizations in the field of disability, and accessibility issues.

The National Center for Health Statistics' National Health Interview Survey on Disability (1994 and 1995 data) developed a series of questionnaires that would provide a useful set of measures while maintaining a balance between the social, administrative, and medical considerations involved in disability measurement.
